Why have you decided to study in the ͬ³ÇÔ¼ÅÚ?

—Combination ofhigh quality education with exposure toimmense diversity and opportunity tolearn from world’s top industry people has great impact onmaking decision inselecting Master programmes. Myuniversity isamongst top universities intheͬ³ÇÔ¼ÅÚ and inthe world, alumni from university ofSurrey become top leaders.

Ihave applied for Chevening in2015 and became the finalist with other 6fellow scholars from Kyrgyzstan. This isatruly amazing journey which will inevitably have along lasting impact onmyfuture career. Ihighly recommend young leaders toapply for Chevening inthe future.

Why have you chosen given specialisation and given educational institution?

—Itwas April of2015 whenI envisioned mydesired career path— tobecome adifferentiating factor inaviation industry and top industry professional. Deeply sharing this attitude keeps meinspired. The School ofHospitality and Tourism Management isranked #1 inthe U.K. bythe Guardian University Guide 2018 and the Complete University Guide 2017. University ofSurrey isranked number 4inthe Guardian University Guide 2017, 10inthe Times Higher Education Table,11 inthe Complete University Guide,18 intheQS league table ofthe World’s highest-performing universities under 50years old. Certainly, school ranking plays arole inselecting university and programme.

What do you remember the most about studying in the ͬ³ÇÔ¼ÅÚ?

—Intensity and alot ofwork =) Master degree inthe U.K. isaone-year programme which includes dissertation aswell. There isahuge reliance onself-study and self-organization. Ithink that the most memorable aspect ofmyU.K. education experience isbecoming independent, organized and being able tomanage time effectively due toconstrains and deadlines. Also, grading system isvery different inthe U.K.’s institutions. Ihad toadjust tonew environment and quickly understand the requirements here. Itwas great fun!

How did your studies help you so far?

—Ihave started internships and volunteered atindustry events here inLondon and Manchester. Itried toimplement myknowledge immediately after joining myprogramme tocombine both academic and professional lives together. Most certainly, knowledge received during this year was absolutely great, challenging and eyes opening.

What will you advise to students who would like to apply for Chevening scholarship?

—Donot beafraid totry, prepare yourself for the programme inadvance, read asmuch asitispossible about the programme and it’s goals— feelit. Ijust immersed myself into understanding ofChevening and understood thatI can fit the great aims itpursues. Work onself-improvement, innovate and participate— domore that itisrequired and begenuinely interested indoingso. Ithink this isthe most important thing— tostart with your very self.

What would you like to advise future students who would like to study in the ͬ³ÇÔ¼ÅÚ?

—Ionly wish torealize your potential with goals you have set. This isvery fulfilling. The feeling offulfillment gives confidence and opens new doors bydefault. Donot beafraid totry and learn asmuch aspossible about the world around you. Itisnone ofanybody’s business but yours and you are tobuild your life really. Sounds cliche but itistrue ifyou are independent person.

Whatever you guys choose tostudy inthe U.K. oranywhere— doitwell and make plans for yourself. Plans change over time, especially when somany new things start occurring, nonetheless, knowing your purpose (atleast very vaguely but understanding you have one), will drive you and make you.
