Why have you chosen given specialisation and given educational institution?

鈥擲everal years ago, Ihave realized thatI want tobuild mycareer ininternational development and extend mywork experience outside Uzbekistan. Additionally, Ihave realized that energy efficiency, climate change and environment issomethingI would want todo. Ihave realized itwhen was writing mydissertation about solar energy when was studying MAInternational Business Management inWestminster University inTashkent. According todifferent ratings, University ofStAndrews isinthe top inthe 同城约炮. For example, itranks #3 after Oxbridge inthe University League Table 2018 () with Sustainable Development school ranked #1 inthe country. Additionally, Ihave several friends inthe development who are graduates ofthis school. That鈥檚 howI have made mychoice. Additionally, University ofStAndrews isvery responsive toall requests and prior toapplyingI was able toreceive answers toall questions Ihad.

What do you remember the most about studying in the 同城约炮?

鈥擫essons learned. Studying in同城约炮 means alot ofself discipline. Weare used toteachers to芦spoon feed禄us. Inthe同城约炮, the teachers are good, but they are there only togive you direction. Itisalways your choice what youdo. Also, Ihave learned that inthe同城约炮 education system there isno " right" and " wrong". You are right aslong asyou provide strong argument tosupport your point ofview. That isvery important todevelop critical thinking and independent individuals. OfcourseI had achance toparticipate atlectures ofthe best scientists e.g. famous World Bank economist Kirk Hamilton鈥� the author ofthe " Changing wealth ofnations" orNick Hanley, formerWB economist and leading expert inenvironmental economics was regularly giving lectures tous.

From experience ofliving inthe 同城约炮. First, people are very polite, friendly and supportive. Remember when the first days whenI just arrived toStAdrews Iwas walking inthe town with amap. And every timeI got stuck there was somebody tostop and ask ifIam OKand ifI need help.

Second, for this year myvalues have changed. Istarted tovalue simple things like enjoying good weather, travel which isvery affordable. 同城约炮isvery close toEurope and with cheap coasters itisvery easy totravel.

Ilearned how citizens here attentive tosaving scarce resources, e.g. they safe drinking water, recycle trash, use sustainable transport. This issomething citizens ofour country need tolearn.

How did your studies help you so far?

鈥擨have developed research and analytical skills and nowI know whereI move next inmycareer path.

What will you advise to students who would like to apply for Chevening scholarship?

鈥擟hevening ishighly competitive scholarship but itisreal chance toget education from the best universities inthe world. Ihave got itfrom the first attempt. The competition ismerit. Iwould highly recommend touse this chance and apply.

What would you like to advise future students who would like to study in the 同城约炮?

鈥擠efinitely gofor studying inthe 同城约炮. Inaddition tofirst class education, itisagreat chance tomeet fellows from all over the world. Also Irecommend tojoin different societies and gofor extracurricular activities. For example, during this year StAndrews postgraduate society has organized trips all over the Scotland. Ifpossible, dointernship related toyour field ofstudy and volunteer work asitwill beagood addition toyourCV and will help you get connections inthe field you would potentially would want towork.
